Rabbi Elliot Pachter and Cantor Earl Berris are graduates of the Jewish Theological Seminary. They are available to answer questions on Jewish approaches to health issues, provide information, and officiate at life cycle events. Referrals to local Jewish service agencies are also available.
Cantor Berris conducts occasional Sunday afternoon religious services focusing on persons who are themselves ill, the family and caregivers of the sick, and persons who have suffered recent losses.
Religious Services are conducted daily. Anyone seeking the comfort of prayer or desiring to pray during the mourning period or observe the yahrzeit (anniversary of the death) of a friend or relative is welcome to attend. To have the name of a relative or friend included in the prayer for healing (through the following Saturday), an individual may call our office with (if possible) that person’s Hebrew name and Hebrew name of his/her mother.
Synagogue volunteers are available to conduct evening religious services (conservative liturgy) in local homes for persons currently observing the shiva mourning period.
We can assist prospective and new parents with issues regarding pregnancy/childbirth and offer our services in conducting baby naming ceremonies.
