On Thursday, October 4th Congregation B'nai Moshe came to Hechtman and Meer apartments to celebrate Simchat Torah with our JAS residents This is the second year that this wonderful, joyous event has taken place on our West Bloomfield campus.

Approximately 50 members of B'nai Moshe, along with Rabbi Pachter came to pray and sing, dance and celebrate the Torah with our residents. At both Hechtman and Meer close to 100 residents participated, clapped, carried the Torah and sang along. Thanks to the efforts of Carol Dmitruk. Naomi Pinchuk and social work students, Debbie Cohl and Sarah Carlton, at Hechtman and Marcia Mittleman, Carolyn Kowalski and Jay Miller, the rooms were prepared, refreshments set out and residents made welcome. The congregants of B'nai Moshe came with flags, siddurs and small Torahs that our residents could hold. It was a very successful and spiritual celebration that we all hope will continue to be a yearly event.
